Default fustrating brake lights at night

before i replaced the drivers side rear tail bulb, i was having this problem

with the tail lights or headlights on, the drivers side brake light wouldnt come on

now ive replaced the bulb tonight(narva) and now the drivers side brake light is stuck on with the parkers or headlights switch on

and as a side note, with everything off and just the brake pressed down, it looks like the parker light is showing as the brake light on the drivers side

Try replacing the left side rear tail bulb, sometimes the 2 filaments touch sending power from the parkers to the brake lights.

ill replace the left side tomorrow, if that doesnt work ill have to look at the bulb holder, i cant put the bulb in the otherway because the bulb holder is broken on both sides where the pins are secured down(i think the bulb could actually be upside but i cant tell because the holder is broken)

anyone know how much it is to replace the actual bulb holder?

yes, its busted, grab a new loom. the old bakerlite holders were foolish, the newer (B-series?) plastic ones don't get brittle over time. much much much much much better.

changing the loom is a piece of cake, just take all globes out, unplug on the boot side, slip the grommet through the hole, and do the reverse with the new one.

As above with the looms.

Also, just checking if you replaced with a two filament brake light globe? I've seen some people put a reverse light globe in the stop light and come up with the same problems you're experiencing.

Cheers.
