Lightbulb Opposite of a beach

After having a debate/discussion about the ocean and the sea being 2 different things (me saying there is a difference, other person saying it's just a name) and coming to the conclusion (thanks google) there is a difference...

We Then came to the discussion me saying there's a difference between a beach, and where for instance rocks meet the sea and it's 2m deep instantly

so again google which defined a beach as where the Sand slopes to ocean/lake, but what's the oposite of a beach?

i would have thought one is a sandy beach. one is a rocky beach

where rocks meet sea and its instantly deep might be called a cliff depending on how high it is

where the sand ends and the rocks start is usually
considered to be a "Headland" or "Bluff"

i don't mean to sound rude....but who cares?
not a life-saving question by any stretch of the imagination..
a beach is a beach, where the sea meets the land.

A big difference between the sea and the ocean.

The seven oceans combined make up the high seas, which when combined with the territorials seas make up all of the seas!!

Oh and the saying the you 'sailed the seven seas' should actually read 'i sailed the seven oceans'
