Default Ecu Query

Hey guys

My mech picked up a s1 xr6, september 98 model

Vct + 5spd, Heritage green

For wrecking

Just wondering if i was to grab the manual conversion out of it and put it in my car, if i will be able to use the ecu for the manual side of things and it will not affect any other operation of the car, also would i have to swap dashes

Not worrying about the electric windows or the fancy stuff.

Mine being a march 99 build, smartlock

cheers

Is your car a series 1 or 1.5?

Cheers

Wouldnt worry about using the ECU. Just get yours reflashed for Manual use. Its not like it comes with an extra 10kw or anything.

The vct ecu will definitely not wok with a non vct engine. Just get ford to flash your correct ecu

No i dont no who that is,

Cheers guys reason i wanted to use the ecu was so i can use the manual, saving me going to ford and getting it reflashed,

But looks like the better option unless i just shove the manual and vct engine in, then ill do the whole swapys of dash etc

Cheers guys

Why do you need to swap dashes? Only reason it would be worthwhile doing a dash swap is to go to Fairmont/Ghia Dash.

it should the only diffrence between the xrs and the forte as far as i know is that the spedo cluster is diffrent... all the wiring for the windows and all the rest should be there, well i know in the fairmont i have all the wiring for the door lights and amp and crap even tho it doesnt come with it...

couldnt see ford spending extra money to make the wiring with and with out
