Default Royal London Philharmonic Orchestra

Now, I know some of you will think I have gone soft in the head, and that might well be the case.... But..... The Royal London Philharmonic Orchestra is in Melbourne this weekend and I reckon it might provide a spectacle well worthy of seeing/hearing.

I am not all that into much classical music apart from the usual populist stuff that you hear regularly, Pachelbel Canon in D Major the one I know best and like the best. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZHw9uyj81g

Has anyone seen something like this as well, not a real classical music buff, and come away impressed or depressed?

My music collection includes everything ever done by AC/DC before they went soft in the late eighties and lots of various old stuff that I love. So it is pretty out of left field for me, but I reckon it might be good?

My cousin plays violin and viola. She invited me to watch an orchestra in the Opera house she was playing in and it left me GOBSMACKED.

I was totally amazed at how 30-40 people could play in unison and create such a stunning sound.

Was the first, but defiantly not the last I will go and see. Well worth seeing just once by anyone.

....i have this on DVD at home and when its up on the flat screen and surround sound system it is awsome!!!

And when i play this modern classic theme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upsmjJRYmzw while driving, i have this uncontrolable urge to throw things at German cars as i pass them....

Love my classics....
