Rainbow 6 Vegas 2.

That game is fantastic for Terrorist Hunt mode for coop play or with 6 you can go head to head.

Its pretty much a must for LANs

Counterstrike. Enough said. Personally I'd steer away from the RTS games.

Wolfenstein? Which one?

RETURN to Castle Wolfenstein?

Because I'm sure as hell that Wolfenstein 3D wasn't!

Warcraft II is one of my faves.

Civilization IV

I've had bunches of fun with "lesser known" or should I maybe say "lesser played" games at LANs.

The "No One Lives Forever" series (well, there's two) are absolutely great fun, and single player their stories are kinda cool and got me hooked.

Also, the original "Red Faction" is great, GeoMod is something I really wish a heap more games had. GeoMod basically allows you to destroy the surroundings and environment as well as your opponents. Missing someone with a rocket launcher then seeing a huge gaping hole in the wall where it hit is great!

Empire Earth is great but there's really no such thing as a quick game :P

The original Far Cry is still my favourate for LAN's. There are alot of custom maps that you can download that are great.

I loved that "Greenhouse" thing they put in there, with all the weapons and stuff and a giant greenhouse in this underground cave to just destroy the whole cave & greenhouse.

In the multiplayer maps, usually look out for markings on walls or posters and stuff, usually a rocket to one of them reveals a "hidden" chamber or room with half decent weapons. Problem is once you expose it everyone else easily finds it!!!

How awesome was the rail gun or whatever it was, with the heat sensitive scope so you could see people through walls and it would actually shoot them through walls - still one of my favourite FPS weapons to this day.

Yep, it's still my favourite FPS game.

Favourite mode: lonewolf against 50 terrorists!

Yeah, although it still had GeoMod the storyline and gameplay just didn't have the whole "fun" aspect that the original had.

There's a new Red Faction out now (I believe just on console at the moment, on its way to PC), will be interesting to see if that's any good.

I can't believe I actually left out one of the games I loved playing multi.

The old Interstate '76!!!

I didn't really play much of the sequel multiplayer, but Interstate 82 was also a bit of fun.

As for the Unreal Tournament series, the only one I've played was UT 2004 and it is the only game I still play.

Reviews say it is quite good but can get a bit repetitive.
