The entry-level Falcon sedan, the XT, is not now not far from the $40,000 mark at $39,290.

This new price takes away any price advantage the car had over the Holden Commodore Omega, which is now the same price.
This bloke gives ford a hit for increasing prices to same level as commo. I say good on ford for keeping the prices less than the commo for as long as they could in these times.
If they are the same price you would still buy an FG over the commo IMO

He could have said "it was great of Ford to be able to hold down the price of the XT for so long", but alas, another journo puts the boots into the blue oval.

Get really sick and tired of seeing it.

THey could also write how the Omega is grossly inferior to the XT, and therefore the price rise isn't the poison it may appear to be on paper...

I don't get why they are raising the prices. It's not like they are selling anything like full prices at the moment (as most cars aren't). It's kind of like having the price rise, when you aren't having a price rise.

The RRP of a Falcon XR6 is like $41,490 plus on roads. Which probably makes it approx $45,990 on road. Yet you can now buy them for $35,990 on road.

So, when you see that a Falcon XR6 is only worth 55% after 3 years it looks bad. Many purchasers could be put off. But if you bought it at the current price, it's more like 65-70%.
