Listen to this man mate and sell. I just bought an XH ute. 5spd, reg till Feb, had over $4k spent on engine rebuilding and maintenance in the last 6 months (he provided me with the receipts to prove it). And that doesnt include other things like getting the gas system re-tested. I only paid $3000 for it!

I would be getting in contact with the bloke who offered you $4k minus wheels and tell him he can have the LOT for $4k.

$4k is a brilliant price to get for a 15 year old Falcon!
You wouldn't get much more for a BA with the same kms in VIC/NSW now days.

Your like the bloke on Deal or No Deal who has $200,000 and 0.50 cents left on the board - the bank offers $180k - and you say "no deal".

so what about the guy who paid 9 for his? lol.... you guys crack me up, a car is worth what people will pay... i had a VL beofore this that was clean as and sold for $4000, non turbo, executive model just clean, but im aware you can get one for $500-$1000 with rego. All comes down to what people will pay, simple as that... and Its my mate that said he would give me 4k for the ford. Anyway im over this post now any1 who wants to keep arguiing feel free... but honestly thanks for everyones oppinions

Maybe so mate, but who is going to want to pay the price you want when you can go to the auctions and buy a BA Falcon, 130,000kms, service history, rego and it has everything that your car does for $6000k? I know, my mate bought one and that was before the market dropped is guts. You think what you want, at the end of the day people here have given you their views on what you should do and its your choice if you act on it now. Or wait until the days go by and your car is only worth $100 to the wrecking yard.

It's an extremely common vehicle and yes you can get better ones for 1000.

My cars a manual that already makes it 10 times rarer than yours and manuals are still common as hell.

yeh i had an ed six worked head, exhaust, stereo, speakers, ls diff, 5spd, thermos, fairmount int, very reliable, very quick car, but paint all i got was $900 for it, only now i regret selling.

the point is no matter whats been done to the car or how good it was to you the next guy who wants it will never offer you the money you want as you wouldn't offer the money someone else wants for the car they are selling to you..

dont always go to the biggest bestest sales sites to sell your car there are alot of other cars that people compare yours to.
And in the forums hah we all try to get something for nothing.

Be patient drop the price and im sure it will sell.

thanks mate but its not for sale anymore, im keepin it, its in the process of getting repainted and a few other goodies, i wont say anything yet ill post everything up when its finished, i dont want to have a dream post lol

yeh i saw that, positive is the low km's...but not a fairmont, but has underbody rust?? how can that occur with a car thats hardly been driven, needs a respray and has damage to the sill which needs to be fixed for RWC and $3000, after the repairs and paint you will have a car thats cost $7-8k thats stock as a rock (not that mods increase value, if anything prob the opposite) not my cuppa but each to their own it is a newer model i guess on another upside

Having said that, the problem IS your price. Simple as that. All you can do is advertise it all over the place and gradually drop the price. The buyers set what a car is worth, and it will sell at the price its actually worth eventually.

Go ask Mintel on fordmods.

Picked up an immaculate sub 200 000k EL XR6 for $700.

And you can find immaculate EF fairmonts for 2-3k with more mods than the thread starters vehicle.

Sorry mate, I wouldn't sell my ED for 10k because it has sentimental value, it's not even worth 2k, with the state it's in now I doubt someone would give me that. When you accept that sentimental and market value are 2 different things we should see some progression in your sale. I've done all I can, all the best mate.
