3rd trip to Queensland: Hamilton Island & Whitsundays Aug: 16-18

Well booking the flight was the cheap part $68 all in from Sydney plus a few Virgin Velocity points... BUT:


Holly Crap the Accomodation is expensive!!!!


Any recommendations?


It looks like hostels is the way to go at $60 a night at Whitsundays + a ferry ride from the airport at about $50 each way...


I can't imagine there are any Ford/FPV folks in that area? Are there...???


Anyway, I'm going August 16 Sunday thru August 18 Tuesday.
