Angry cant get DVD player out of my au!!! help im getting angry

ok so when i get my DVD play part of the deal was they throw in free instalation, fine with me, coz i have never done a DVD player before so i thought leave it to the shop i got it from... easier said then done.

its been in since may last year.. and my RCA leads to my sub are comming loose (i wiggle the cord near the head unit and it turns back on). so i thought, i know ill take out the dvd player check to make sure the leads are plugged in solidly and not snapped also add a ipod connection at the same time, only to realise...

the f***s got the DVD player in there and now its never comming out... they used double sidded tape and carboard that looks about 5mm think on eitrher side of the dvd player to hold it in, so now when u try and pull it out, the card board gets stuck behind the plastic fascia of the dash and wont come out, and i cant get a good enuff grip on it to get it free, i tried for about 45mins the other day about 1hr today and got absoulty know where, any one got any ideas on how i can get it out????

oh by the way... the stupid dumb *** shop i got it from was strathfield, geelong, and now they have closed down.. so they should have!

any thoughts or ideas would be apreciated alot,
thanks

how about getting a 6 inch steel rule, slidding it down the sides of the carboard, next to the plastic, and using that as a bit of a H/U pulling tool...might crush the carboard little too...

And i know how you feel... found a quarter of a beer carton holding a h/u into my ute when i bought it...

Have you got the release keys? If not, you will need them, or you need to make some. The cardboard etc should only be holding in the cradle, and the Head unit will only come out of the cradel using the release keys, or brute force 9that will cause damage, but who knows what to).

release key is just a thin piece of metal that you need to push between the head deck and the cradle... which pushes out a locking mechanism to allow the head unit to slide out...
