When I go to start my car first thing in the morning, it usually takes a couple goes. It usually goes like this

engine turns over a couple times, nearly starts
engine starts, runs for 5 secs then stalls
engine starts, runs for 10 secs then stalls
engine starts and runs fine

its usually only the first start of the day when this happens, from then on its fine used: What could the problem be??? its a series 2 manual ute

I had what sounds like a similar problem in my AU2 Ghia.

I ended up doing a reset and changed the battery and have not had the problem since...

Hope it helps

Reset the computer. Then if no joy, change the plugs.

Changing them is a 15-20 minute job and plugs are only $4 a pop for standard items.

If still no joy, then I'd clean the ISC valve, then if still no joy, clean out the throttle body. If that doesn't help any, you could possibly change the fuel filter.

All the best with it.
