Default AU II XR8...Need More Power...Advice?

Im looking to get more power out of my AU II XR8 Auto...I have an 2.5 exhaust which has gained a bit.....I have a K&N Panel filter with the Tickford snorkel aswell....Could i mod the airbox more? Or get a pod and ditch the panel filter?

I will eventually get extractors....After that though...without taking the engine apart....whats the go? A performance chip?

Also...I got told not to bother shift kitting a Adaptive Shift Auto.....Is this true? Because i never thrash it enough to get the gear box to turn to harder shifting.....Is it worth it or will they just damage my gearbox?

Also it does clunk into 1st if i frop it into it under 40kph...Is this normal?

Cheers

They are very sluggish in nanny mode lol, best you put it in performance mode and dont be a tightass....

For the cold air, add a turbo snorkel to the front of the airbox and that will be plenty for that.

Get a custom tuned CAPA flash tune, that will help it heaps too, i dont think you need to spend any more than $1300 (depending on how much the tuner charges for the custom tune) and it will give it a nice kick in the pants.

Nah if he sold the AU XR8 he could buy an E series and put the change into doing it up.

We might want a BA one day.

you can mod the standard airbox. I have a 3 inch stainless pipe coming out the front of mine. Do the extractors before doing the Chip if you do the chip first you'll be wasteing money on tuning because when you put the extractors you'll need to tune it again to get the full advantage... I got just under 250hp at the wheels of mine with very limited mods. just the air box exaust standard headers and a little bit of porting on the inlet manifold. All up my performance mods have cost me 500 bucks and have gained 30hp at the wheels! that 500 was 100 for k&n air filter and 400 for exaust i did the rest myself

Good extractors, custom tuned edit and a G&D airbox and you'll be right.
