Default Instrument cluster Question on price

I'M considering upgrading my low series cluster in my ED falcon classic to a Mid series sports cluster (I dont think I can get a high series).

Problem is I see them for $60 each.

Is that a reasonable price?

I thought they would've been around $30-$40

Yeah the only reason I want it is for the tacho and oil pressure (which is half the cluster lol).

It looks hard to wire up and I'm unsure how to connect additional wires to the battery terminals since they're already grouped into 2 big terminals and not tonnes of little wires.

$60 is a good price if u can get a cluster with smartlock on it as i have seen them go for around $100 on ebay. $30-40 is wat you can expect to pay for a non-smartlock cluster. you dont need to do any wiring for it apart from changing over the oil sender unit. they all have the same connections so just plug in and away you go( except there will be antother little connector for the smartlock)

since your car is an ED it will just plug and play all you have to do is change the oil pressure sender over.

all other items on the dash will work...(recently did this to my EB 2 )

and as stated above by wiggum 04 just make sure you get a smartlock cluster

there are 2 main plugs for the cluster and one small one seperate for the smartlock

I heard you need to run a wire to the ignition coil to get the tacho going???

Also there's another wire needed for low wiper fliud but I really don't need it.

I also heard I need to run a wire from the positive battery terminal for the volt reader.

That's only for the EA models(Tacho) and it's a pink wire up near the brake booster that you have to splice into. If you got an EB series II upwards and get an s-pac dash from this model it's plug and play (everything works except) as said before you need to fit an oil sender as the oil switch you have will show FSD (full scale deflection) on the oil pressure gauge.

It's down on the block between the dizzy and ign coil roughly speaking, probably $10 from the wreckers if that.

hmmm. How would I get to that, it was a enough trying to put the lead back onto the coil form the dizzy cap.

Do I have to remove the manifold?

the best way to get to the oil pressure sender is from underneath the car

the sender is located about 3 inches to the rear of the block from the dizzy

not the easiest to get at but not too hard just a bit akward

no need to remove the manifold at all
