Hey guys, I was browsing on ebay and I came across this XG ute that said it had VS Commo injectors? Now he also said not to ask just that they make a big difference.
Has anyone heard of this? and if so is it worth doing? Cheers, Matt |

I might be wrong but I think E-Series, 90s Magna and Commodore injectors are interchangable and have similar flow rates (19-24lb?)
I'm not sure about Commodore injectors but I think Magna ones offer an improvement over std E-Series 19lb units |

Oh well there ya go lol. Would it be worth changing the magna injectors or is the difference minimal? Would you need to change the ecu?

as the vn/vr run 23 p.s.i. injectors (note i don't know the ford fuel pressure this may leed to over fuelling) as the holden run return exess fuel for the fuel with is not needed

Falcons have a return line as well. And injectors aren't measured by pressure.

but holden goes bye 125milliseconn@60psi =idol to a max .925 milli @60psi if this helps vn/vr injected fuel before the intake valve opened @ 12psi (poor atomisation) ecotec injected while valve open better fuel efienct @60psi

From what I remember the Magna/HSV injectors flow 23lb in Magnas and HSVs, but the fuel pressure in the Falcons is lower so they flow 21 or so. Quote:

Any injector change to a different flowing injector will require a ECU change to get correct fueling, if you change the fuel pressure to get it correct, you will have no benefit at all, and actually may be worse off due to incorrect spray pattern due to the pressure change.

on an EA engine with an EL XR6 ECU, will EL XR6 injectors make a difference?

the only real gain you are going to acheive by running bigger injectors is if you have a DIRTY BIG cam and advance the timming otherwise the stock injectors will be able to produce the amount of fuel needed. personaly i wouldn't bother unless you are going boosted.

The ELXR6 ECU will be calibrated to the BBM intake and thermo's and smartlock, and the ELXR injectors are the same as a EA, im pretty sure when they went AU there was a slight difference, but still then they run at 19lb. The XR ECU will run the fuel pressure at 300kpa thats about it, and be calibrated to 3.45 Gear Ratio... If im wrong, please correct me cheers - Grechie
