Default supercharging my esky???

gday all
well thought id introduce meself and my new toy. a 1978 panelvan, she had a 2 litre that the p/o blew up. Got a few questions to.....i have the option of buying a 2 litre from a mate who races them, ported head, bigger valves, 40 thou over etc, basically its only done 10 000ks since rebuild. Im not sure whether to get it or not, it might not be a good idea to start off my first project with a worked motor. Any advice would be great, my other question was, what was the deal with supercharging an esky??? Id like to know how hard it would be to fit and tune...how hard it would be to get regoed in WA etc. Im looking for a streetable daily driver, with the grunt to have some fun with, nothing excessive though.

it's apparently quite hard as no supercharger kits are available for them. some custom work will need to be completed, ie. the manifold.

this thread discusses the topic:

hope it's of some use.

yup .. custom manifold.... do u want to go under bonnet or cut a hole?
if u cut a hole it will be off-set.. looks wierd.. seen a FC holden with a blown 6 and it looked silly.
the 2lt is a good go faster option.. they are quite strong if they have been built propper.
if u dont wnat to fit it.. does your m8 want to sell it?
if so .. how much?
cheers
