Default latest version of MSN Messenger

Good god, just when you think it cant get any worse they go and lump this crap program on us. Its the worst one I have ever used! Signs itself in and out, I cant access my contact list easily and the emoticons are all over the shop.

Anybody else having issues with it?

I have the Live 8.1 version and its totally painful.
Does similar things to what Austin posted, sometimes it signs me in but won't let me be seen as online.
Or if it is showing online for me, I chat to someone and they ask why I am offline

Never a problem here. I find it is integrated within Windows better than previous versions (but then again I'm running Vista Ultimate). I must add though, that even with running it in WinXP I had no issues with it.

I delayed upgrading mine from 7 for a long, long time. I finally downloaded "Live 8.5" and don't have any problems with it, except it doesn't show display pictures next to the names in my list. Other than that I think it's neat!

7.5 = best messenger there is.

Live = spyware.

Little brother downloaded it and internet explorer would take an honest 10 minutes to load google, instead of the usual instant response time.

Uninstalled that live crap and reinstalled 7.5. Its tops.

I have MSN and I hate it. I rarely turn it on. I much preferred ICQ.

Miranda is an awesome alternative to MSN Messenger and a few others too. Small download and when running, it barely uses more than 600K of memory.

Messenger Live is the biggest heap of crap (in the IM world) I have ever had the misfortune of using. 7.5 is okay, but Live; I tell all my clients to never ever install certain programs. Live just made it onto that list.
