Default someone help please ???

I need to know a couple of things so i can chop my stock springs at the front.

The distance from wheel arch to the ground on a stock ed falcon at the front
and also the distrance from top of one coil to the next in the middle of the spring where it is not compressed
I hope somone can help me out thanks

i think u need to know a few things too.
1. dont chop ya springs
2. just buy new ones, ull get the worst ride if u chop them

For the sake of $100 i wouldn't cut your springs, if you have an accident your insurance company wont cover you.....

i bought a set of ultralows and near new shocks for 150............

just do yourself a favor and buy some springs.......dont G-Spec it!

don't cut your springs ..... if you want to do a dodgy way atleast your spring clamps .. same like spring compressor but not as bulky etc.

Heard of people chopping superlows and stuff to go lower, but cutting stock springs is just bein cheap.

nah its illegal to chop springs in aus

ok let me clear somthing with you guys im chopping my stock ones because
i have superlow 2s in there now and i put efxr wheels form my parents car on to get roadworthy and then i was told the front is to low by half an inch and my short shocks wont fit with standard springs so i am chopping them.
Straight after the roadworthy and vicroads have checked it my old springs r going back in

they dont check the springs and vic roads dont check the springs i will get the RWC
i just need the clearance so ca sombody please tell me what i asked for in 1st post

i just want to know this information
not be recommended with other soloutions
but i want ot know asap because i want to do this now and get rwc 2moro
everything else is fine on it just clearrnce at front is 2 low

Vicroads won't check the springs.. They don't put it up on a hoist so they wouldn't know any different. Give the guy a break. Chopped springs aren't as bad as everyone thinks.

Dude you will be able to fit the stock springs to your short shocks if you compress the spring enough. I'd probably do what Dan said tho and get some second hand stock shocks from the wreckers and just chuck them in. That way your spring land is where it should be and the car will easily be high enough.

Amen bro. Chopped springs ARENT as bad as everyone thinks. Especially if you used to have Country option suspension in a 88 EA. LOL at trying to drive Titanic up Latrobe Tce. Thank Grinder those days are gone.

yeah the joint he went to missed a few things, they didnt even pick up a split top ball joint boot, and they should be checking for that stuff, so I doubt they are very througher
