Hi All,
I've got a black 15" steel wheel on my EL, but I'm not actually sure that it is an EL rim. the only reason I say this is that the holes are much smaller than the other EL rims I have. Anyone have any ideas? Pic in link below: http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...t/IMG_0361.jpg Thanks, Justin.

You can just make out a little Ford oval between two of the studs.

That's my thoughts too. The holes are much smaller on this rim than my other EF/EL stockies. If it's from an AU though, wouldn't the offset be all wrong?

Easy, because you come across as patronising him, and by quoting Mr Flibbles and then adding your comment it seemed that you were agreeing that they would fit.

as for the wheel itself....that looks kinda strange.. i think someone might be on the money suggesting it as a late XH steely...... Last edited by LUXO_8; 28-01-2007 at 01:51 PM. |

Hmmm, it's sitting on an EL at the moment, on the rear - it seems to sit ok though?
I'm only looking to keep it as a spare, so if it's an XH it should all be good, however if it's an AU 15 it may not fit the front properly I think.

try putting it on the front, that'll tell you for sure if its an au wheel........
does it sit in a fair way compared to usual? if it does its an au rim - hard to tell from a side on pic |

Here's a link of the XHII. The wheels have the same number of holes, but those holes look bigger on the XHII

Thats definately an AU1 Rim... they fit on the rear of an E Series with no problems but on the front you havent a hope in hell... when its on the back look from the rear of the car and you will see how far it sits in... I Used to run the on my XE Rear and constantly got asked if the car was tubbed

it's an AU2 steel rim, I thaught it was pretty obvious since the tyre size reads 215/60/r16 don't know of any 16" e-series steelies. Great thread.

Thanks Damo. Yep it is an AU2 rim. I hadn't even looked at it, I had assumed it was a 15. Assumptions always lead to trouble, but anyway... The car came with a combination of ea 14" rim, 2 NA 15" alloys and this - naturally I assumed it was a 15 as the cheapest wheels were scrounged up to get this home to me.

Couldn't agree more with damo. I opened up the photo and thought 'why is private9 thinking it's a 15" rim?' It's definitely an au stockie...

Yep, absolutely! Without thinking, or looking too closely, I assumed it was a 15 - I should know better consider I've got an AU, but oh well - everyone makes mistakes!
