Default airbag light and error code

Hi all

great website - very informative.

Does anyone have error codes for the AU. When i turn the ignition on the airbag light comes on followed by 4 sets of beeps - the airbag light disappears on the third set?

anyone know what this means??

cheers

If the light goes out when the car is started, I'd say it was the DTE warning for the fuel level, less than 80km to empty?

Yep, if it's "beep, beep, beep" repeated 4 times, that's DTE.

What does the DTE display show on the dash? Its where the odometer is, you should be able to toggle between odo and DTE by pushing the odo reset button once

And incase you dont know DTE is Distance To Empty.

It will beep at you with 80kms to go, 40, and 20 I believe.

The DTE should flash in squence with KM left on start up with the beeping as well.

If it's a different tone beep ... it could be like what I had ... which was the handbrake warning chime coming on ... mind you my speedo was fluctuating between 10-20km/h in Park with the handbrake on ... hance the beeping as well. Weird ... it went away all by itself.

When turning the car on ... does it flash .... and then stay on????
If so that's an airbag code.

It will flash once ... stay off ... then flash several times (usually another 7 or 8 times).
Then repeat this 3 times.

I found the little cable loose under the driver's seat and clicked it back in ... this stopped mine
