Dunno about the name, but that's damn nice. The 147 GTA motor is meant to be a bit of a screamer too. I wonder what it weighs in at...

The 147 GTA motor is an Alloytech engine displacing 3.2 litres (the engine to be used it the captiva when it arrives in australia later this year) with slight modifications, as to still give it the raspy alfa sound.

No, the 3.2 litre in the 147 is the original alfa romeo engine. The holden sourced 3.2 litre engine (albeit with alfa spec heads, manifold...) is used in the new 159 and brera range.

Sorry yes you are right, wierd that they would continue to use the original alfa engine whel the alloytech is a better engine, just did a comparison of specs from redbook.com.au.

http://www.redbookasiapacific.com/au...ALFA06BC&new=1

The car on the left being the 147 GTA (alfa engine) and the car in the right being the 159 (Alloytech engine)

On thing of notice is the higher power and torque output yet lower fuel consumption and lower emmisions and only slightly slower, in a considerably heavier car AND driving an AWD platform!

And I find the fuel consumption of Alfa Romeo's awful. makes an El/AU falcon look like an econo car lol.

Looks great - I can see quite a bit of 'borrowed' styling from ferrari in it (and maybe a hint of oldschool datto 240/260/280)

Google “Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale” and see what it looks like.
