Talking The AU is a killer :D

Just gotta put in my 2 cents worth here and say what a brilliant car the AU is ( BA is nice but i think i still prefer the look of the AU - I love that twin light tickford front-end) . Since owning this AUII XR6 i have been nothing but totally pleased with it , had heaps of good comments - people saying " nice car :O " etc etc , more comments than i ever had on my XE done up with all the goodies , and this AUII XR6 VCT is stock ! ( and no problems yet toutch wood ! )- I have plenty of mates who are/were ! holden owners - i have gave them all a drive of my car and they are dumb founded !!! - they love it too !!. Of course the car has its small minor faults here and there like all cars do, but considering what i paid for it and what its worth i couldnt of done any better , besides that it drove better than some cars 2x the price i test drove - and a hell of alot better interior than most too !! , lovelly car - I can see myself owning this car for a long time yet !, this is my first major upgrade to a decent car again since my ford XE, and havent regreted it since. Im not ford bias but i would like to hear of others that have converted their long time holden mates to ford ..lol. - I havent checked if the car has a chip mod yet or anything but it goes like clappers , havent had anything beat me yet ( allthough it will happen soon im sure ..lol. ), the dickheads at frankston mitshibishi motors didnt know nothin about fords and sold it to me as a standard AU , they didnt even realise it was a AUII VCT - dickheads , but to my advantage. :thebirds: Got insurance for 2x what i paid for it np too !.

the Au is a killer, damn straight..
its so unique aswell, its why i love it so much..
you have e seires- EA,EB,ED,EF,EL now the BA,BF.. and what is there AU, and thats all not A - anything else.. only AU.. its the ONE, the BEST lol..

i mean just look at the T's.. *drool*
and the XR6/8's are just nuts.. looks, styling, comfort, handling, power, everything!
and now get a bigger and bigger aftermarket base, they are getting better again.

ive said it before, and im saying it again, if Ford didnt bring out AU's I would not be a Ford fan, let alone be seen in one.. but im happy that i have one sitting on my driveway..

I fell in love with the AU XRs when they were released. I'll NEVER get rid of either the XR6HP or the XR8. Love them both equally, and they provide such a nicely constrasted driving exprience. Took the HP for a run today, and, after not having driven it for a few months, fell in love all over again!

Long live the AU XRs and T-Series: the last of the Tickfords.

AUs rule! I also had a very nice tricked up XE, and while it got lots of looks and comments, it didn't get close to what the T3 delivers. Simply EVERYONE looks at the T3 and it gets heaps of comments from women which surprised me.

Enjoy your XR VCT mate - my daughter has one and also a mate from work and they are a great car and a great engine.

There's no doubt the AU Forte... with the big "teeth" shaped grill that was the first of the AU's was pretty vile. However its amazing how small refinements made, colour coding, XR front, body kits, wheels etc can make them look TOUGH. I love my AUII XR8, and i dont think people could deny it looks awesome. Go the AU!

Some of the AU utes getting around melbourne are the ducks guts too... sensational.

Yeah I gotta admit the original AU with that big grill gave it an awefull 'cheesy / toothy smile' ..lol - but originally i was refering to the xr's anyways ..lol - Allthough the original AU was still a nice car, even with the ugly grill .

No friggin way was the original Forte nice !
It looked unbalanced, stood as high as a Territory, front grill sucked etcetc ! All the important visual's what the average punter only see's.
The S1 XR's looked great though and still do though not enough pony's !!!!

Got my AUII wagon and converted some ricers to Fords and now with the T seris bodykit hoping to get some more. I dont have my car to convert peple the car does that itself with its unique styling, power and comfort.

nah, the code AV was plastered all over all the BA parts at Ford. It was a last minute decision to change it to BA (a shortening of the BARRA project code) to distance the car from the (turn on Russian accent) "Glorious and functional yet radically shaped peoples Falcon with the Baleen Wale grill that the media couldnt deal with so universilly canned it without even driving it"

Personally I just dont think it deserved an A prefix.

I get wow nice car, and Eww its a Ford fairly often..

the Eww its a ford mob, generally change there mind after coming for a ride..
had one girl i know dead set agaisnt falcons "they are heavy, ugly, and slow" she drives a little proton.. and said that her car is faster off the line than my XR6..

after about an hr of convincing to jump in my car to take her for a drive, she was shocked, her first words "this thing would suck my car up its airfilter and spit it out the exhaust, it hammers!"
then throwing it through some twisties, and a boot full here and there, she loves it, she still says she hates Fords, mines just an acception, lol im happy with that..
but now when the holden vs ford convo comes up, shes quick to back up my car lol
