has anyone seen or heard of a strut brace for a au six???

Nope, as far as I know they dont exist. Something about not fitting over or around the broad band manifold I think.

No.

Falcon's don't need them. They have double wishbone suspension, or something which doesn't require them. Jap cars need them as they aren't as rigid in the front or rear.

I'm sure something with more info can fill you in exactly why.

Double wishbone suspension will still benefit greatly from a strut brace.

If a strut brace won't fit, you could always do a brace like the old mustangs - from the inner guard/shock tower to the firewall.

I was looking into getting one too, whiteline make one for the ef so i don't think the manifold is the problem, probably bonnet shape.

yea this is something I have always been interested in for my AU however no one seems to make them.... Au2falcons are you sure whiteline make them for EF/EL I6's? I was under the impression all BBM falcons missed out , but i could be worng...

I contacted whiteline about one and they said they dont do one, only for the EA-ED and the utes.

yeah, my main problem is the radiator bottle, and that it sits too flush against the shock bolts and need to lift that then continue with the rest of the head ache.

My wifes Mazda SP20 has one from the factory but do you really need one for a street driven falcon. If it had been neccessary TickFord would have fitted the T series up with one.Plus I gather clearance might be a problem.
A good set of tyres, alginment & brakes is the go than a $100 bit of alloy.

that MAY be related to the EF/L shaped ute and somebody smoked something when he wrote the webpage ...

basically the recent the falcons dont need any strut tower bracing as they have a very strong build front end. the movement of the top strut towers of moving in or outwards is only minimal, hence there was never one developed. As for the washer bottle being in the way, that can easily be fixed, but the BBM is still in the way. strut braces can be designed to run towards the firewall if need be and may clear the intake manifold

i know this is an old thread but the brace they refer to (KSB510) actualy goes from the engine mount to back of the upper control arm and braces it there instead of the "strut brace" we are all used to

Most of the ones i have seen or owned only fit on ea-ed or any of the utes that dont use the BBM. I had one on my ed, i think rollin has it now.
