steering vibration HELP! :(

Hi guys,

Have had a very bad vibration under braking on my 2008 LT Tdci!

I have changed all the rotors and pad and still have the same problem.
Thought it might have been a set of bad rotors so got a new replacement set from the manufacturer under warranty and still the same vibrations!

Got the car checked out before the second replacement set of rotors were put on and they said the rotors were warped, hence why i got a new set under warranty.

This is driving me insane as i dont know what else could be the problem!

Any other reason why this vibration could be happening??

What brand pad are you using? Some pads may cause an uneven transfer of friction material onto the rotor

Sometimes the hub face can also have a rust / dirt build up, causing excessive runout.

Pads are Bendix euro+ and rotors are RDAs
Hub was cleaned of rust and dirt before the new rotors were put on

have you recently had tyres rotated so they run in opposite direction (also are they directional) - obtain correct spec. & tighten wheel nuts with torque wrench 100Nm. I think !
have you had suspension and calipers checked for wear or seizing and verified wheels are not warped ......

Tires are check by Bridgestone every 3 months as per there warranty.
Rotated and balanced as required.
All suspension was checked out by Pedders when i took the car in and all the replaced was the lower control arm bushes
Calipers where fine when brakes done and wheel are fine as Bridgestone would have told me otherwise on the report i receive!!

I'm at a total loss as to whats going on :(

Good pads and good discs. Clean hub. Calipers OK. Weird! Not sure what is going on there.

One other thing - I take it that the caliper slide pins are all OK and well lubricated?

I'm hoping that it isn't another set of bad rotors!!
But what are the chances of two sets in a row!!!
It's going for a service soon to Ford so i'll see what they have to say about it

unlikely but if the pads stick it heats up the rotors and warps them, was a problem on mid 2000 falcons till they fixed it.

Brake shudder can also be caused by out of round rear rotors or drums. Have you checked the rears as well...

new rotors and bads on rear too
and a new left rear caliper as the old one had a leak :(

Vibration was there before and after all the work was done!!

Might also be caused by a by one piston in one of the brake calipers not working properly
