Hi all,
I have finally gotten around to getting some more things done on the wagon. Currently having my mechanic fitting a walbro gs 341 in tank and he is saying it doesn't fit 100%. How have people done this? Have you used standard AU filter? Used the filter that comes with the walbro? Or just not used an additional filter? Any pics of how people have done it or any advice would be more than welcome Cheers, Rhys

What is he saying doesn't fit? I have put the walbro in my Wagon not that long ago didn't have any really major issues apart from trying to get the old pump out of the housing. Ended up giving up and using the ute housing it came in as the actual housing is the same.
Just looked and I take it you are doing this on an AU? Not sure if there the same or not |

Apparently the filter that came with my walbro has a 45 degree plastic bend on it where it attaches to the fuel pump. I hadn't noticed this. The problem I think is that in order to fit the pump with this filter it would sit about an inch of the bottom of the tank. He has just fitted it in the original location and we are going to rely for the moment on the filter from the swirl pot. He has taken a couple of pictures for me which I will get tonight and then I will reassess where to go from here. Not overly keen on not running the filter that has come with it... Do you have any pictures of how yours fitted?

Mine is a Ba. Nah didnt take any photos ba's a pretty striaght forward they just fit in the original housing and just put it all back in. Don't have to worry about filters as they are built into the housing.

BA filters are not built into the housing, they are on the end of the pump

So after having a look at the filter which he was not able to fit and the pump assembly I have out of a Ute (very similar to the wagon) I can see why he was having issues.
Here is the filter that came with the pump... Here is the old pump... The original pump appears to have had 2 inlets one from in the swirl pot one which filters into the swirl pot. In order to fit the pump he has not fitted a filter directly to the pump and it is reliant on the filter fitted to the bottom of the swirl pot.... This here shows the Ute assembly (the top one, the bottom one is a sedan one). You can see a filter on bottom of it and there is also a second one inside it on the pump directly. Really hard to explain. I hope that makes some sense. I will hopefully in the next 2 weeks try and source a filter which is more suited to the task and then I will pull it all out and have a better look at it and see what I can do.
