I have just bought a wrecked xh 5l 5 speed and am wondering if everything will swap ok into el sedan? Is the pedal box and tail shaft the same? I already have 4.11 diff gears ready to go in but are they to short for the manual?

4.11's and 5th gear will see you around 2600rpm at 100klms on the highway I think
I will double check and get back to you Unsure about pedal box but do you really want to remove the entire dash to fit it? Just buy a mal wood clutch pin. Look it up Mal wood clutch pin also strengthens the clutch pedal better than a stock pedal box

Yes you should strengthen the fire wall or you can wait until it tears open - it may or may not do this lol
The standard clutch pedal box assembly is weak in its standard from - the mal wood pin kit strengthens it or you could weld a bit of metal to strengthen it like I did What happens to a pedal box with any sort of heavy clutch Add a big chunk of metal so it doesn't bend/flex again Where your dash ends up if you want to fix or change the pedal box

Not worried bout dash out. Easiest job on an e series. Might just pull it out to strengthen it.
What would be better gear set? 3.7s? |

going to order the mal wood pin adaptor instead but strengthin the manual box and replace when auto one fails. was looking on there site and they have short throw shifters for about 275, any one used these? seem to be cheaper than the rip shifters

Unsure what the Mal Wood one is like but I purchased a MGW T5 short shifter with 5 speed knob for a Mustang off MGW
Here is a pic of it fitted with the std gear boot fitted - I have upgraded to a custom black leather gear boot off ebay but don't have a pic

yep, 3.9's would be as far as you would go, it would be very snappy around town, and the V8 has a taller 1st gear than the 6 which doesnt make such a short diff ratio as bad but still a big no to the 4.11's, it would be borderline annoying. |
