Morning All,
Just joined yesterday, site looks great lots of info & advice, still trying to find my way around. I am looking at buying the above vehicle and was wondering what type of mileage - Litres Per Hundred I could expect. Even if it's the company brochure figures, this would be better than nothing and I am aware each truck is different as is the right boot weight. Thanks, John. ![]() |

Mine is an 05 F150 with the 3-valve 5.4, I imagine it gets pretty close to the F250 2-valve. I have about a 25 gallon tank, and get about 320 miles per tank. I think that works out to 20L/100km. In comparison a Chevy Silverado 5.3 with the same size tank gets about 400+ miles per tank, or about 16L/100km. I have even had an 02 Silverado get 450 on one tank freeway driving, which is like 14L/100km. So the Fords do drink more than Chevys, but they have more low-end torque too.
Go for the 7.3L Power Stroke diesel! |

I'd imagine the 5.4L petrol F250s would use a LOT of fuel...
I have an uncle with a 2005 F250 XLT dual cab, massive massive beast, I want it badly! 7.3L V8 diesel, which has got to be one of the best sounds I've ever heard! Amazingly good on fuel as well, and sounds fantastic with a bootful. Could tow almost anything as well! Also extremely reliable! it's done 500,000+ kms, without a single issue. It's kept serviced and very well maintained, but not pampered by any means. 7.3L diesel! Can't go wrong! |
