Default Borgwarner WorkBench

I really wasn't too sure if any one would think this is as cool as I do, but I thought I would share anyway.

So my GF and I were looking for TV stands on eBay and we stumbled on this thing. It's an old workbench taken from the Borgwarner factory in Sydney when it shut down.

Luckily my GF thought it looked great, and I just love the fact that I now have a piece of Aussie motoring history in the living room! Ha! It's bloody big though, and was a hell of a thing to carry! But that als means we "need" a bigger TV - win win for me everywhere really.

Oh man I had NO idea it would weigh so much! It took my cousin and GF on one side and me on the other side to lift in and out of the Ute! Took all my strength.

Absolutely going to keep it as is. We have wiped the metal shavings and oil and dirt off a bit, then we're going to put a protective layer of something - not too sure what yet - and that's it. The side panels are old chip board, so they will go somewhere along the line, but the bent chip board shelves are staying for sure... not very proctical to have warped shelves, but they look great andadd character

Good stuff. I'm very jealous looks like and unreal bench and a nice piece of history!

It's just begging to have model cars displayed in it.

Get an extension housing off an old BW35, stick a ligh bulb in the top and you have the perfect table standing lamp, the missus will probably want to put some frilly lampshade on it though
