yeah that sounds about right.... give it a good clean, clay bar and then hit it with a buffer and some low grit polish... should look like new again

Yeah get it off ASAP, had this happen to a mate and by the time they washed it off the paint had started to peel off the roof and bonnet.

I used warm soapy water to get it off mine. Luckily it was on the windscreen rather than the paintwork. It took a LOT of scrubbing but in the end I got it all.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but it has already eaten the paint. Had this happen to mine and I cleaned it off after less than two hours, I still have a couple of marks where it was.

Use warm soapy water and be reeeeallly gentle.

Be lucky you didn't get it like I did once - driving my old bomb (it was a Holden, now a cube thank god) home from the shops one night and some little s**ts threw eggs - one went on the roof and one, unfortunately for me, went through the passenger side window (which was open) and landed on the seat next to me. I reefed the handbrake on and did a U turn came screaming back but alas the little bastards had decamped.

my car got egged at work once.

the maintenance guy told me about it, so went and cleaned it off the bonnet where it hit straight away. all came off no worries, but it chipped the paint from the impact.

unfortunately, i didnt notice the egg that hit the rear quarter for 2 days. working night shift will do that to you. and by then the paint was rooted.

My EL has a ring of chips in the paint too from being egged out the back of work. Amazing how much damage something as delicate as an egg can do :

It happened to me back when I was 17.

I had a '89 Hyundai Excel :that I was learning to drive manual in, also ended up as my first car, I used to park it on the street in front of my house, (We live in a seemingly quite Cul-de-sac) I got home from an early morning shift (3AM to 11AM on a sunday morning) to find egg all over my car, even though it was a crappy Hyundai, I was still ****ed.

I put the car onto the grass (back when you could wash the car at home) and got it off with a hose, sponge and some soapy hot water, it would have been there for a few hours, on poor quality paint and the result was pretty good, not a sign of the egg and all was forgotten.

The microbes that carry out these acts really are of total insignificance.

I had a bad streak recently where my (grey) XF was done over about 3 times in about 3 months. I was lucky in a sense that the majority of the egg hit the window as opposed to the door, but it still ran right down the door.

Bit of soap, and a bit of water and it looked like it just rolled off the line at Broady. Still does.

A WOMAN has lost partial sight in one eye after being hit in the face by a raw egg thrown from a passing car at North Adelaide.

The woman, aged in her 20s, was walking in a northerly direction on the eastern footpath of O'Connell Street at about 12.30am on Monday, September 1, when she was hit.

The unprovoked attack, by a male passenger in the car, happened near Archer St.

She was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital for emergency treatment but has since lost partial sight in her left eye, which requires further treatment.

In an unrelated incident last night, a boy, 5, suffered a cut head from a glass fragment when a shop window was "shot" by a ball bearing or marble at Blair Athol.

Police said a person in a passing vehicle fired the projectile into a chicken shop window on Main North Rd at about 8.10pm.

The glass chard hit the boy, who was a customer in the shop.

He was treated at the Women's and Children's Hospital and allowed to leave.

Police have asked anybody with information on either incident to contact BankSA Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
