Can anyone provide me with some info on these shift kits, they retail around $100... do they stuff your box or do they actually work successfully ?

Hey bud, welcome to the forums!
Have a bit of a search through here, they've been discussed a few times I think. There's fairly split opinions on whether they help or hinder your box. I've found with mine anyway, that it's more of a novelty than anything else.

I have put one in my AU XR8 and a friends AU1 ute. I think they are great. I have had them in for about 3 months and it does make your car a bit clunky when you drive sedately but when you put your foot down its definately a much more positive change. In my mates ute its not as noticable but his changes have definatly improved. I think the trick is to select it when you want and turn it off for the rest of the time. Although I have mine on all the tume. As for if its good for your box or not I will have to wait and see.

I had an internal one fitted about two and a half years ago. No issues so far.

they actually prolong the life of the box. to get the soft shift for comfort the gause a degree of slip causing wear and heat build up. the shift kit reduces this so yoiu have less wear and less heat. depending on your driving style it may load up the rest of the drive train though
