Guys I'm just about to do the front brakes on the XR and just wondering what people recommend. I'm after quality and performance so what do you reckon? Slotted rotors and high quality pads is what I'm after.

Russ have you got the 330mm discs? If not, the FTG setup would be the way to go cos it comes with discs and pads.

In that case, probably DBA slotteds and Bendix Pads. Ultimate are very harsh on rotors, Ive got advance but if it was to put a new set on I would probably go the next ones up.
From memory the DBA discs are about $110 ea.

The difference is huge between the stock and the BF XR8 ones, and your going to spend half that much for just standard sized rootrs and good pads anyways... |

If your not going to upgrade to the BF brakes, then go for slotted DBA's and Formula Ferodo pads...

you have to take calipers off to change pads and rotors so your half way there already . Its then only the brake lines and bleed of the lines away fom changing the calipers not hard at all, give it a go

I had a bit of spare time at work today and have priced up some rotors and pads for you mate, let's just say by the time you bought DBA slotteds and good Bendix Pads, you are 3/4 of the way to the complete new setup from FTG.
