just for interests sake i wonder how much smoke actually dissapates before it reaches high atmosphere levels.....in a sense of changing climate and etc etc.....

basically smokers should have the right to smoke anywhere there not incringing on peoples personal space
that keeps things simple

Bingo. That's all the government is making these laws for. You can smoke but you can't in the company of another person (non smoker/public).

It's not a big ask but smokers will get ИИИИty. Eventually smoking laws will kill off smoking fullstop. The government wants smoking banned why? It's because the health system can't afford to keep people alive every time they voluntarily euthanise themselves.

I love it. There are side effects that we all know about that I don't love, but I'm still smoking and the reason I'm still smoking is because I enjoy it.

I have quit before (cold turkey method - IMHO the only way) and only started again because of a combination of boredom and the fact that I remembered how much I enjoyed it at that given moment. It was all downhill from there.

But yes, I still love it. But I hate the stigma and the bad stuff that comes with it. Thems the breaks.

I crave the taste every single day........ I loved smoking.. totally enjoyed..
Didnt quit because I hated it thats for sure..
did it for other reasons (and no health wasnt actually one of the considerations at the time, but yes I agree I probably am healthier for quitting)

The banning of people smoking in their cars might be to stop people throwing their butts out the window and causing fires or just a general mess.

So here's one for all of the dudes that says "yeah?! well cars are giving out pollution, so why don't we ban them as well". When your missus is preggars, and if she's a smoker, why does she stop? (Assuming she stops at all?) Becacuse it ИИИИИИs up the unborn child yeah. Statistics have proven that and for more information see. http://quitsmoking.about.com/b/a/101062.htm

NOW, why then don't they say "gee, you're knocked up, better not walk down the street cause your child will probably die of SIDS" Could it be because the noxious gases (I know they're there) from cars/trucks/whatever aren't drawn directly into the lungs, but dissipate and are less effective? I don't know, you tell me. Alls I know is that when you fill up your car well Optimax it doesn't say "Driving your car may harm your unborn child" Can anyone find statistics regarding that?

Also, I have smoked ciggys and I do understand why people like the tast (smooth kent blue, charcoal filters if you want a change form your winnie blues) but waing up with a mouth tasting like an ashtray really got old fast.

Bottom line it's bad for you and HIGH risk, unlike some other things that havea lower risk (driving a car for instance) Just like other drugs (heroin etc) are HIGHER RISK. If you want that risk then I won't persecute you. But next time I'm pouring your beer, how about blowing your smoke in the other direction?

My god... talk about through the cat amongst the pigeons dipped in bbq sauce!

Everyone has an opinion on this one!

I'd like to have one as well. I think its rediculous that any govt try to ban smoking in cars and peoples homes. Want to stop cigerettes? Stop selling them. That has the counter effect of 5 million ИИИИed off people though.

I'd be interested in seeing this though. At the next Big Day Out, which usually stinks of Bongs anyway, someone lights up a Ciggy "Everyone stop playing!! THAT MAN IS SMOKING!", while the guy that you never saw 3 rows back is enjoying a reefer.

If you don't like not being able to have a smoke while you drink maybe you shouldn't drink.

Not up here they're not anymore.

Pubs are supposed to be drink ONLY.

FFS.

I'm not going to post in here anymore, because I can see two things happening.

1. I'll say something that will get up someone's nose which would result in 2..

2. Someone/me being banned.

GLAD YOU ASKED VCT!!!

When I'm standing in a room, (with a ceiling) where's the smoke going to go? Now, I'm not taking the ИИИИ mate, I'm serious, the smoke just stays and hangs around yeah, rather than going where ever smoke usually goes, that's why they say smoking should be outside right? So smoking outside, I have no problem with, smoking indoors is IMO what the whole passive smoking debate is about. Also, and this is a sincere question, would you WANT your kids to be smokers, know what effects it has. I'm not saying whether you would respect the decision or not, cause I respect your decision to be a smoker, whether I agree with it or not. My question is would you WANT them to smoke?

Just a question, and I don't want this to be inflammetry, but why can't some (NOT ALL) smokers but their butts in the bin? F***, I got so mad the other day when I watched this dude check his butt on the ground, then again am I more of the pussy for not picking it up and throwing it in his face?

I HATE LITTER.

Serious question, Are you suggesting that all partons of pubs smoke? And if so are you suggesting that pub culture will die becuase no one is allowed to smoke there (when it happens)???
