All AU XRs have Tickford rims as standard but depending upon model, could be 16s or 17s. Prior to BA, all XRs were built at Ford then sent to Tickford for finishing. ie: Wheels, body kits, suspension, engine mods for V8s etc. As far as I can recall, only the XR6 HP 16" wheel may have been available as an option on non Tickford built vehicles. Casper may be able to shed some more light on this. Ford "factory" rims from this era would be SR/Futura/Fairmont 16" alloy rims or 17" from certain Ghias. As Bucky stated, Wheel King has a good range of various Tickford wheel and tyre packages. Check out their web site for descriptions and pics of the different styles.

The AUII/III's Fairmonts had the corresponding skirts and wheels of their AUII XR brethren if optioned that way. The AUII XR6 VCT was initally standard with the 16" rims but eventually became standard with the AUII XR 17" rims from the Late Edition update onwards, and should be listed in the engine bay accordingly. Although I could be wrong on all this, so I place my disclaimer here. :P

my old boy bought a brand new AU2 fairmont ghia I6, back when they were new, with the 17" tickford 5 spokes, momo wheel and spoiler kit, all factory fitted with the tickford plate under the bonnet. They didnt all come out on XR's, some fairmonts had the 5 spoke wheels on them as well.

Picked up the new rims today, stood them next to the old ones. What a big difference, heaps more shine and no scratches!.
Just have to save some $ for some nice decent tyres. |

I think i'll have to pop down to this Berwick market.
Although, I do prefer the moulded mats i have already. I want to get something really nice & custom though.
