Give him a call and he can give you a quote, depending on what tint you want eg, 20% 30% etc etc!

dont get a metalic based film as it will interfere with you radio, sat nav etc. Make sure it is carbon based darkest tint. good luck

I had my BA ute done at Tint Wizard, on north rocks rd opposite bunnings.

They use solargard films, lifetime warranty.

I got 35% on side and 15% on the rear windows, Good job, going to get missus car done soon.

Metallic film - Has NOT affected my radio.

I was with a friend picking up their car from Tintmaster in N.Melb last year and I noticed that the rear demister had been broken. "Yeah, that happens, we don't cover that". Pfft. No more tints for you buddy!

$300 seems a lot of $ for a ute tint.

that black and silver tint is not legal , even if it is a 35% vlt , because of the reflectivity of the silver part ( needs to be less than 10% refelective to be legal) so you could be asking for a defect notice .

apart from the legality part i have some reservations about the quality of the product. i have seen quite a few cars that the black colouring has faded away to almost clear . as far as i know this is one of the many korean products hitting the market in the last few years .

i would be talking to a few more shops before booking the car in if you are after a quality film that will last long term. also good to think about resale value if you think you might sell the car . black/silver tint would not appeal to everyone.

but if you are not worried about legality, longlivety, or resale value, and are more after a particular look now and are prepared to remove it later, then go for it.

not so much worried about legality, but the guy showed us the tint they use (cant remember what its called, but it was very high quality from the US), might just go with a straight out black tint, visit a few shops, thanks for the reply dave

i dealt with 3M for nine years and they never had any films like that, so unless they have changed marketing direction in the last 18 months i would doubt that its 3M .
of the USA based companies , Sungard and Madico were the main ones that dabled with custom style tints, but again the quality was not that impressive. i know that years ago Sungard had a film that faded from black at the bottom t clear at the top. but it wasnt long befor it would be clear allover because the dye would fail in the sunlight.

if you contact "cooltone" in brissy ( consult the yellow pages) they will be able to direct you to an authorised 3M applicator in your area. they are the south qld distributors for 3M tint products and supply the shops.

the other side of their business is flat glass tinting, eg; houses, offices, shops, etc.

they would also be one of if not the longest operating tint business in brisbane and is still owned and run by the original familly.
