What other ford had chrome guard trims.... that would fit AU, thinking I'd like to see what the look like on it (digitally at least), if you have a pic it would be great, and I'll chop it and test it on the ute?

Fairmont, Fairmont Ghia, Fairlane Ghia, LTD. Chrome strips from Ford is around the $400. Have a look in the show us your AU thread and Fairlans and LTD thread. You see the stripes there.

oh you meant those chrome strips.
i dont think ANY falcon came from factory with those bits of chrome. looks horrible IMO. but the chrome strips that went aroudn the front bar and on the chrome bump stops on the doors, they were outlined above. but i got quoted $274 for them. not 400.

cheers, yeah not sure about it either, wanting to add something else colorwise to the ute, not sure what, it looks better at higher res 2048x1536, plus its just a quick mock up, did not spent to much time on it...
maybe there is no such thing as to black... a bit of chrome here and there should look ok.. might try the door handles and the side mirrors... all show no go ;) for now! what goes with black, really dont wanna do red... |

Those chrome strips can tend to be rust builders/makers too after being on the car for a long time. They hold the water and dirt and crud under/behind them bad, they did in the case of the chrome strips that was used on the older 80's fairlanes anyway.
