We sold our XR8 to save on fuel as we do huge KM to and from work so we got our selves a diesel Zetec Fiesta new 2011 and she has not missed a beat in 120,000 KM love this little car.. I also drive it like I stole it every day!!
Now I have a question. On my 4.2Tdi GU patrol I have blocked the EGR and fitted a catch can to help save the rubbish going in to the motor. Is this a thing to be done on the little 1.6? Cheers Steve

I have a 2010 WT TDCi sedan, and it has done 185,000 km. Only things that i've done to it are tyres, wipers, coolant replacement, timing belt/tensioner/idler, thermostat housing, and all services myself (using penrith HPR 5). As you said, a great little car. I do approx 40K/year, and average about 3.9l/100km. I have a question relating to the EGR. Did you do it, and what was the results, as I'm considering doing this after seeing the horror stories on the net. Also did you consider putting a catch can inline with the PCV hose to the turbo inlet? Cheers, Tim |
