Yeah, well a Ford dealer offered me a $7,000 trade on a new superseded BA XR8. My car's an AUII Ghia V8, 91,000km, in good nick apart from front & rear bumpers + bootlid that I managed to "customise" in a car park bingle a few weeks ago. Probable repair costs at full retail around 2K, I would have thought the dealer could do it for a lot less. Dealer said that even if the car was straight it was only worth $10K.
They still seem to run around $17K-$20K on drive.com though. |

But when she signs the rego paper over to you, you can put what ever you want as the sale price in there

I hate AU's more than the next bloke but for $700 that is way too good to be true, you have to be prepared for the enevitable... most cars that cheap have something internally wrong with them that they won't share with you. For that price who cares ;)

yeah same happened to me, my car was worth about $2-3k market price but I said I paid $800 (which I did then resprayed it) and they used that price because it's wasn't too ridiculous. Say whatever you want, they won't base the price on $700

definently a bargain. my mate just went to brisbane auction's and said that there were 2001 2002 au stoko's with 50ks on them for 5000, his old man is getting one.
The disheartening thing is that no matter how much money you think it's worth or how much you've spent on your car it's always depreciating, and with fuel cost's and thing's alway's going up our car's are dropping quick |

Last week I bought an AU3 Fairmont (2002) at auction for $7500. Was an ex-company car with high k's (190,000) & unregistered (company had cancelled the rego)
Only thing for the roadworthy was wiper blades! All up it was $8400 registered & with Roadie. Absoulte bargain, and yes everything works! |
