You answered your own question in you last post!!!!!
Of course things break on a drag stip or racing with moddyfied go fast bits. Mostly, its a case of how far to push things before things go bang. Finding the weak points and making improvements along the way. I would brag at 100 passes to if the times were good. Who wouldnt ....... and many of these cars are not running 50% increases but like my Landau, it was more like 300% increase on stock just so I could run a 10. The car was never designed to run 10 seconds and at over 200 kmph it was exciting to say the least!!!! With many stock parts including tail shaft, axles and brakes .... with the original Clevo block. Retired it as I didn't want to push it further. I don't know how many passes but would be 50 plus ish and ended up running consistent and well. No other Landau in the world has done 10 seconds and survived that I know of ...... Something I can boast about LOL!!!! Of course things break. Many reasons are given above. No question is silly ..... but was answered pretty quickly. While this is a fascinating thread and a great read for anyone intending to go to the AAF DRAG NATS in June ....... for the sake of sanity I need to end it as everything has been fairly much said.
