Default Teaser photos No. 2. Dead Cow

Spent the day installing my new interior.

Not exactly teasers, but a couple of very rough shots of my latest mod.

It looks better in reality......the lighting makes the colours look different in the camera. In person, the colour match is pretty good

They were pre-owned half leather ST170 seats. I had the blue fabric inserts removed, and replaced with matching colour perforated leather, stitched in a GT Mustang style. A few creases here and there, but they'll settle down

Also had the door cards matched in the perforated leather

For those that know my car, it continues the monochromatic theme

The extra good news when it was all installed was that the wiring loom for the electric seat adjustment was already in place, so by carefully swapping over various under seat plugs, height adjustment is fully operational.

Hope you like it

Brakes have to be installed. Just waiting on a couple of parts.

Next up is probably an amplifier. I installed a pair of Boston Acoustic plate speakers in the front this week, have another pair coming for the back doors, but they need an amp to get the best out of them. Looking at a JL, Alpine, or maybe an MB Quart

Lookin smart.

Leather ain't that bad in summer. Just make sure you're wearing pants when you get in the car on a hot day.

Oh, and who pilfered your rear left window winder??

Jeez you've got sharp eyes!

I haven't put them back on yet. Probably putting new speakers in the back and the winders are a total PITA to remove.

My last 2 cars have had leather.......I must have erased the "hot seat" issue from my memory bank

Have they got the little 'U' shapped clips? You can get a propper tool for removing them.

Wise choice on the perforated leather too. Just gotta watch it though, stuff gets mashed into it pretty easily.

I would imagine anywhere better than superchimp autos. I'd try a glenfords or total tools. Maybe even a good auto spares place. Maybe even eBay.

The one I've used is out if my old mans ridiculous tool collection. He lost it though so I can't even get a photo for you.

Good investment if you're doing this sort of thing often.

Thanks Ford5.
Getting Wilwood brakes installed, and a bit of a plan for the radio surround.

And getting 65mm throttle body installed on Monday

Sounds sweet, how many piston are the brakes?
And that throttle body should give it a bit more grunt.

How much of a difference is the TB going to make? With a bit of luck it might tip you over the 100kW mark

The reason I ask is that I'm planning on building a Mitsubishi 4G63 DOHC N/A for my gf's '75 galant coupe and the tb's the wrong way around on the manifold so I figured I'd get a bigger one welded on when I get it turned around.

I'd love to put a zetec in there but I don't know any cheap gearbox setups.

Frankly, not sure on the TB.

On stock engines it does bugger all except for throttle response

But given the mods on my engine it may in fact tip it over the 100kw ATW .

Stay tuned

There is no N/A Focus in this country that goes as hard as Melbzetec's. I haven't even seen it since SFS

Yes the stock LR Focus CL and LX was 85kw at the flywheel.

Stock Zetec was 96kw at the fly.

Mine is currently around 94 kw at the wheels

Yes the SR's were special edition value packs with extra goodies added on. It shares the 85kw engine.

Also was the R version....a Zetec with body kit (including RS rear wing), MP3 alloys, ST170 pedals and cheap stickers(!). It shared the 96kw engine

All the LR's were built in Germany. However excluding the ST, Australia has been bringing them in from South Africa starting with the LS. Must be cheaper to import I guess.

Still, I think we are getting a little off topic. I'm pretty we started with what a great job Steve did strapping a dead cow to his seats.
