I've just changed the front discs on my AUII ute - set of new RDA standard rotor and new pads. Drives fine, stops fine, but I've noticed on one of the rotors a dark mark running the outer half of the disc all the way around. I spoke with someone yesterday and they said it was probably the anti-rust "oil" used on the disc. I did spend some time cleaning the disc with thinners before installing them, but obviously I couldn't get in the disc fins and whatnot.
Do I need to worry about this dark patch, or will it just eventually wear off? (I can't seem to rub it off with thinners or anything?) |

keep an eye on it. should the braking of the car diminish in quality, i could be a hot spot on the rotor. Dont quote me on this though. Without any pics its hard to give an opinion.
But I recommend just keeping a close eye on it.

Just a quick question Rod, did you bed the pads in at all, or just drove on them once fitted?
