yea my dash lights are really dim.. every thing in the cars is bright cept the milage and the aircon screen where u can see what temp etc, the rest is fine. should i get ford to fix it or what.

I have the exact same problem at the moment with mine. There are three very small bulbs at the back of the cluster that light up the lcd display. I pulled my cluster out last weekend which is very easy to do. Two small screws at the top then gently pry out the whole thing from the dash. There is wiring at the back that you unclip and the whole cluster comes away. YOU DO NOT NEED TO TAKE THE THING APART. Just turn it over and at the back you will find the underside of bulbs (that look a lot like led's when removed, mine have a green plastic underside) in the cluster. Mine have H2 written on them. You need to replace these bulbs, you can simply screw them out. I tried Autobahn, Supercheap and Repco last weekend and none of them stocked the item. I am going to call Ford now to find out where to get them from. This is a really simple job you can get done with a philips head and some patience. Do not pull your cluster apart, it takes a while to get back together and you'll have to get the dials back in the correct position which will REALLY try your patience. I'll post again what ford have to say about the bulbs. |

if you mean your climate control unit then the same thing goes. I also had them replaced this week and they have Toshiba Xe written on the back of them, I had those replced when the unit was serviced.

or if you really feel up to it, there is a write up on here somewhere on how to put leds in them instead

bodes-sh has probably the best suggestion considering LED's cannot burn out.
I found the bulbs at ford in the end. Part# ER 10B765 D - they cost around $5 - 6 each. |
