I'd seen that one before, that's the only one though. They look awesome. I think the ones on the white AU are 19's though maybe?

I have seen that car, actually forgot about it. The only reason I know Ive seen it, is because I wanted to know what side skirts would look like without front and rears. What type of side skirts are they?

Hmmmm ... hotness ... would look great on the ute.
wonder if i can get 1-tonne rated tyres for them ... not that I need them.
LOL

18"s would be good though ... 19" wouldn't handle decent weight for my application though.

They look like SR skirts to me ... maybe BA SR skirts modified to kit ... agree about the skirts though ... they look neat indeed

They're the skirts that were standard on all series 3 AU's. They also came on some series 2 cars, I believe some XR's and the SR maybe...

Your car is a Classic though, so it's tarted up a bit. Like I said, only limited numbers of series 2's got them, but they were standard across the range on series 3's. Hence, if it were a Futura, and had those side skirts, it would have to be a series 3.

Yeah, i have. 2K for the set from FTG in whatever condition or 3K with rubber from wheelking. Tis not quite that simple tho.

In the FPVs, apparently the rears are a different offset to the fronts and will cause issues in the future. If i get them from FTG, the rears are going to be different. If i get them from WK, all four are the same offset (ie: front) as they need to be for AU.

I am not a tire professional, but from my experience at putting these ORIGINAL FPV rims (before the copies we released) on my AUIII Futura - Ford asked 4k for the set with rubber and the rims stuck out by approx. inch and a half at the front.

BA and AU offsets ARE NOT the same - Especially FPVs... GT and GTP offsets are different front and rear...

Copies however state if they fit pre BA / AU, etc...

My advise would be to double, triple check the offset and check with a very helpful guro that knows what he's on about like Turbo Nick - Or search the Wheels and tires section!

Check out the Mag stores on Ebay... Bargains galore now!

Hope that helps!

As i said above, the genuine rims are different front to back. The rear rims on the FPVs (and AU T-Series) had a larger offset to give the cars a wider track (is it track?!?, width from wheel to wheel anyway).

So what probably happened is you got 4 rims that were of the REAR offset. If you got 4 rims with front offset, they would fit perfectly.

Im fairly sure Wheelking has those in stock. Wheelking wheels are genuine FPV/Ford/HSV/Holden rims too.

OK, sorry to resurrect a dinosaur of a thread, but might as well instead of starting a new one...
My question is, will genuine FPV 18" GT wheels with the different offset front to back, fit an AU Fairmont (non-IRS). I presumed they would, since the T series had different offset on the rear (28.5 IIRC), but they were IRS weren't they, and I read somewhere the FPV utes had the front offset (ie same as AU offset) all round since they were live axle. Is there another reason for the utes having the fronts all round?
Since it's only about 8mm I think it would be OK, they'll just sit that much further out, but someone who's done it before's advice would be appreciated, to reassure me they won't hit anything etc. Thanks very much!
