Confused

Had my AU1 serviced today and got told that the Extention Housing seal at the rear of my auto has busted, he told me to take it to one place and it would cost around $200 to fix. So naturally i did a bit of research on prices and have been quoted anything from $40 - $300, anyone else had this problem and if so, how much and where did you have it fixed?
Im located in Geelong if someone knows anyone in the local area they can recomend.
