Default Ka Bits

Hi All,

My girlfriend upgraded to a new Focus about 6 months ago and is wanting to sell her old 2001 Ka. We took it in to be roadworthied today, and were quoted around $1500 worth of fixes.... Does anyone have tips of where to pick up parts at a more reasonable price?

They quoted us:

Brake master cylinder - $550 (leaking)
Rubber hoses to front brakes - $131 each
Tie rod ends - $135

Any tips would be greatly appreciated - maybe the master cylinder could be rebuilt rather than replaced?
