Hey all,
New threads keep popping up regarding increasing performance for the au six. As many of us know there are numerous things that can be done. I think a performance thread (driveline only) listing the types of modifications that can be done, their approximate costs from new, estimated power increases, and some brief facts/info would be useful for all members. Once some good discussion has been had the thread could be moved to Useful AU threads - LOOK HERE BEFORE POSTING A NEW THREAD!! (Under the “if its an I6 you have look here section”. I will start it off with some of the things I am aware of. Now I am no expert and that’s why I believe that such a thread would be useful for those like me. Performance plugs $45 Performance ignition leads $90 (up to 4kws) XR6T or Tickford snorkel $50 High Flow air conversion (pod/ high flow filter/ intake pipes) $100- $300 Headers/ Extractors $300-$800 Sport exhaust $300- $600 (5 -15% kw gains) High performance cam shaft $400- $500 |
