You can get a whole bunch of engine temperatures (and other data) by unlocking the dash. It's a pain to do every trip, but if you had a specific interest in the data for one or two trips (to test something maybe) then it's handy.
While starting the engine, hold down the 'mileage reset' button on the rev counter and keep it pressed for 10 seconds. The dash will go into test mode - advance the tests with the button until you get to the temperatures section and leave it there. Go for a drive and watch the constantly updated figures! This also works on other Fords, Focus and Mondeo being two others I've tried. Hope that helps. Here's the full list: 1.Shows a Gauge Sweep 2. Shows all ACL on the LCD (LCD TEST) 3. Turns on all the annunciators on the dash (BULB TEST) 4. Displays hexadecimal value for ROM level (FirmWare Revision) 5. Displays the hexadecimal value for EE level 6. Shows DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) ---------------------> THIS IS VERY, VERY, VERY HANDY! 7. Digital Speedometer - mph 8. Digital Speedometer - kph 9. N/A 10. Digital tachometer 11.Fuel volume 12. Engine coolant temperature 13. Battery voltage 14. ABS/TRACS Error Code 15. Electronic brake distribution (EBD) failure 16. Illumination 17. Crank Sense
