I beleive it thickens the oil a touch and makes it somewhat sticker, thus sticking to the components more and reducing harsh cold starts...

yeah il do the flush when my oil is due, i usually change around 7000km's. does the engine flush go in a day or so before you drain it?

The Detox says only 10 mins with a running engine.
