Update Finally ordered a New Mondeo Titanium MC - Delivery in January. Can't wait. Decided to go with the Ford Heavy Duty (1600kg) towbar. Unfortunately this isn't the easily removable hitch/tongue type as it's not available in a Ford approved one. I will just have to remove the hitch/tongue by undoing the 2 bolts underneath instead - damn.
Decided not to go for an aftermarket one as I didn't want any hassles re reverse sensors and/or potential warranty issues from Ford if things don't work properly. Thanks for the input from everyone and for the advice re non genuine towbar and potential reverse sensors / warranty issues. I really don't need the hassle.
