Sounds like being backed by Rio Tinto with a pilot plant to be built in Gladstone in the next two years.
You’re just a typical Aussie like me, we have lived with a belief structure that’s been set up by traditional car makers and when something completely new comes along we wonder if it just a trick to get venture capital, like fusion. This is just so radically different, maybe it’s like the orbital engine, not the answer but get people thinking differently. The end of needing ICE won’t happen tomorrow or even five years from now but it’s happening….. It would be ironic if Lithium is a dead end and graphene takes over as a more green and easier solution than mining stuff that’s much more complex to recycle… Last edited by jpd80; 20-08-2022 at 09:57 AM. |

There is and has been for many years guys like Peter Pedals, from Rainbow Power Company who live what they preach in all things battery powered including EV's, so I tend to believe if something can be done they're the guys who would be listening to. I just feel this is conditioning for a fuel company and mining company to start cashing in on credits to experiment. But we will see what happens with this, interesting comments under the YT vid Ivory posted.

Lets just hope that this technology doesn't end up being sold overseas (like all our good Tech). We can build and distribute from here in AUS.

Another bit of new technology the requires fossil energy for production. Fossil energy will be required for a long time for the manufacture and distribution of this new type of "green energy" from batteries to vehicles.

It would be ironic if natural gas was used to produce a material for green energy that can be recycled.
Lots of brilliant inventions have come from Aussies, let’s hope that this is one of them…. |

They have been quoted as saying that Gas is currently being used but the catalytic process to obtain the Graphene (Carbon) releases just Hydrogen (Gas: CH4) which they intend to sell or utilise in other energy generation.
