How do you remove the inhibitor switch on the AU Transmissions? I can get the 2 wiring plugs off and the 2 8mm bolts.
But can work out how to get the switch itself off. Any suggestions? I dont want to break it.. |

They often rust on, if the bolts are out it slides off
I have had to smash them off in the past, clean up and regrease the shaft when replacing. |

When you put a new switch on make sure the shaft is smooth & rust free. I did mine once and putting the new switch on I pushed the shaft inside the gearbox a tiny bit. result was I only had reverse, no drive

I had to break the inhibitor switch off.. it was rusted like all to the shaft.. so i grabbed a screw driver and used that to clean up the shaft (gently) then i got sand paper and sanded it back a few times till the new switch slide on just nice..
Hopefully this fixes the problem.. I will report back.. Thanks for every ones help Jason |
