Default Warning - Baited by F6 typhoon cop

Guys, just thought i'd share my experiences this morning as it might serve as a warning to anyone in Sydneys western suburbs (or anywhere for that matter).

Driving west along the M4 this morning as I do every day I noticed a F6 come flying up behind me. As he got close he pulled out into the right lane as if to overtake but instead pulled up along side my window. The guy in the front (plain clothed) then turns and gives me a look as if he wanted to race and rev'd it a few times (we're doing 100k's already). He then plants his foot an takes off to see if i'd chase.

Now thankfully a number of things stopped me from doing something real stupid here. 1. I've got a basically stock XR6 ute and wouldn't have stood a chance. 2. I know there's two F6 unmarked cop cars operating regularly on the M4. Oh and 3, i would never involve myself in such illegal practices :evil3: :evil3:

Anyway, as he took off I quickly noticed the lights sitting on the rear parcel shelf and left him to go on his way. :

I was a little surprised by the use of this tactic though. I bet he catches a few rev heads unaware. Consider yourself warned.

Any good lawyer would surely get them off on entrapment anyways.

There is no way that any person would have commited the unlawful act of speeding without being baited like this

We never speed

Does the entrapment law still exist?

This is going on all over QLD, in skylines, subies and the likes. they are stopping at nothing to catch hoons. I wish they'd catch people like the gits that broke into my car rather then trying to get people to race!

IMO they should be trying to stop people racing on the street, not trying to encourage them to race!

I was almost baited a month or so ago

Coming back from Cronulla after taking the Uncles Mustang for a drive

I had this blue F6 pull up next to me at the lights and slowly kept creeping forward and looking over at me as if to say "Lets Race" as the light went green he took off pretty hard thinking nothing of it I just kept on driving , as i got further down the road i see the same F6 chuck a uturn and put the sirens on. Can imagine what i was thinking after seeing that.

Lucky it wasn't my car and lucky that it was the stang cause as soon as there any sudden throttle the bags light up and with it being sorta close to home I new some one would spot me.

I have heard many tales of cops trying this baiting thing.

Yeah entrapment was my first thought too?? They're probably banking on people not knowing enough, or not having the money to challenge the fine.

For crying out loud.

THERE IS NO ENTRAPMENT LAW IN AUSTRALIA.

Numerous threads I've read here about this and everyone cries entrapment. Ask XA Coupe or Redrum... it doesn't exist.

We are not America... ;)

Yeah we all know its Entrapment. But i had a little look into it after i was almost baited.

The problem is you can say its Entrapment but you have to have the proof to back it all up.
I would also assume that as soon as you take off hard they would just get you then and book you for dangerous driving or "hooning" and claim they never actually tried to race you that’s just how you interpreted it.

Yeah no entrapment law here that I know of... Best not to race and then call the cops and dob in a hoon, driving a black F6

I am sure I saw an unmarked VE SS Ute in my neck of the woods this week

They don't like it either if you beat them to the speed limit and cruise ....

One simple rule.
If you want to race - do it on a track.
The public roads are not meant for speed.
You read the results from speed too often in the paper.
Keep to the speed limits and stay safe.
No speeding = no fines.
Cheers

There'd be no way of legally beating this scenario.. You could argue that; hadn't the cop enticed you, you would have not raced but you still broke the law... That would last about 30 seconds and you'd be thrown out of court!!!

Ok so I might be getting confused with american TV again here but I was under the impression they were not allowed to break the law themselves unless the lights were on?

What is it with people saying "he/she looked over at me, as if to say "lets race"..."

How do you really know if thats what they are thinking? for all you know, they could be thinking "nice wheels" or they could want something that you could be eating at the time...

oh this is such a load of crock lol. My friend got busted for doing a burnout in his worked sv8 about 10 months ago. Took it to court and fought it. The judge made him do a defence driving course and he didnt lose his licence.

How does a defence driving course help a boy from thinking twice about a burnout in a 300kw worked sv8? lol?

Then we look at the other side? people getting 10 years for murder?

pathetic. To say you will get thrown out of court is obscure? In more cases you will win more then you will lose.

i agree but there is no race track within 500KM of us, thus we all (sorry not really me, ive raced once) result to going to the middle of nowhere and finding a nice straight road.

baiting and entrapment are just excuses for a persons pathetic will.
For god sake how hard is it to ignore such a thing?
If you decide to race then you deserve the be caught, for racing illegally and for being so dumb.

It never has. This isn't America.

If you get done by an unmarked goading you into a race, you're the kind of driver I'd prefer not to share the road with. Throw the book at them.

Another pathetic attempt to catch out the "hoons", what just cause you want to give your car a small squirt you are all of a sudden the Satan of the road? And the most annoying part would be asking the cop why its ok for him to speed and accelerate hard then for him to turn around and say "its ok cause I have the gay badge on". And for the people that say/are wanting to say ignore it and drive sensible, the ones who have never ever ever broken a road rule : give it a rest please. Driving in this countries cities is becoming so much of a joke with all the laws and fines, the police are quick becoming the dictators of the road when they should be channeling more of thier efforts into finding crims, druglords etc etc - oh thats right, where would the money come from doing that?
