Default Odomoter Globes

After my saga with the coloured LED's in my dash, my Odo globes have gone now, which I need to replace.

Pulled one out, they don't look like standard T5 like the rest, would appreciate it if somebody could tell me what kind of globe (code) they are so I can head down to a store and grab a couple more.

Thanks heaps.

I bought mine from repco from memory ... can be purchased over the counter as one item.

Well, I went into Repco and managed to get a couple of the globes so that my odo display would be lit at night.

Got home, put them in, turned the car on to test them and they don't seem to be lighting at all. I'm hoping it was just the light outside that you couldn't see it, but unfortunately even with the towel trick it didn't seem lit at all.

Fast getting over the whole dash mods, I've got a couple of coloured LED's for the speedo now, I think I'll just leave things how they are until I get sick to death of the odo not being lit, then I'll take it somewhere and pay someone unless anyone's got any more suggestions?

Does that matter with normal globes, I thought that was only LED's that had to have the current the right way round?

Yes you are right Riksta, but my ODE display originally had globes in it, and when i got replacement items from ford they were LED's. So it couldn't hurt to check.

And by they way, i had the same problem as you. Put blue LED's in my dash and my ode globes blew straight away. Hmmm, interesting.

Cheers

These ones are definitely bulbs, you can see the filament and all in them.

However, the comment "i had the same problem as you. Put blue LED's in my dash and my ode globes blew straight away. Hmmm, interesting." that you made has got me thinking. Would the LED's use less power, diverting more to the Odo globes, causing them to blow in a hurry? I dunno, just a random thought.

More info for you, my ODE display is permanatly stuck on too. Which seeing how it only turned up once the LED's were in, and you had the same initial problem as what i had, helps me track that down.

Cheers

Sorry to repeatedly drag this up, but the globes I got from Repco seem to be working!

After posting that they didn't work, giving up on them and just leaving them in there, I've noticed driving along that one of them seems to come off and on as it pleases. I'm going to clean the contacts on both the globe and the dash, and make sure they definitely are making contact, I think maybe it might be a simple fix after all. Fingers crossed!
